A couple living near San Francisco’s panhandle park needed to update an Edwardian flat, without losing touch of the existing character in the space. We decided to keep much of the millwork and ceiling coving throughout, but infuse them with a touch of heavily textured contemporary elements. Solid walnut and oak woodwork play with slab stonework throughout. The client needed her bathroom to be her relaxation space, so we detailed it with a complementary array of warm ceramics and enclosed the shower with a steam function. New meets old in a revamped space designed with efficiency in mind.
